Our Change Maker: Akheena Farrior Parcak– Director of Community Empowerment

Akheena Farrior Parcak leads with purpose and compassion as the Director of Community Empowerment. Her efforts center on bridging advocacy with community engagement, advancing the mission of Empower Her Rise to uplift and support underrepresented women.

Akheena Farrior Parcak is a junior at Arizona State University majoring in Nursing with a minor in Public Service and Public Policy. She is dedicated to bridging the gap between her passion for healthcare and her commitment to meaningful societal impact.

Akheena currently serves as Outreach Director for a nonprofit focused on feeding the unhoused community in downtown Phoenix and contributes to Empower Her Rise, Inc., supporting young women through mentorship and community-driven initiatives.

On campus, she holds several leadership roles, including Treasurer of the Pretty Smart Club, Event Coordinator, Community Outreach Lead, and Social Media Chair for the Black African Coalition, as well as Social Media Chair for the Black Law Society. Her work reflects a deep commitment to equity, service, and empowering underrepresented communities.

Her mission is to help bridge the gap between healthcare and social impact while empowering young women to take up space, lead with confidence, and drive change in their communities.
