Celebrating Mentorship: Spotlight on Ashley Smith & Jewel Crouch

In honor of National Mentorship Month, we are proud to celebrate one of our inspiring mentorship matches from the 2025 Lead Her Rise™ Cohort. ⚖️

Meet Ashley Smith, a senior at UNC–Chapel Hill, double majoring in Information Science & Media & Journalism, and Jewel Crouch, a J.D. candidate at Suffolk University Law School. Both are deeply passionate about law, justice, and creating meaningful impact in their communities.

Their mentorship journey is rooted in uplifting underrepresented communities, navigating the legal profession as women of color, and growing together through honest, purpose-driven guidance. Through this pairing, Ashley and Jewel have cultivated a space for learning, reflection, and shared growth—demonstrating the power of mentorship in shaping the next generation of legal leaders.

“Mentorship is about more than guidance—it’s about connection, empowerment, and rising together,”.

At EmpowerHer Rise, we are honored to support connections like Ashley and Jewel’s and celebrate the growth, insight, and shared experiences that make our mentorship program so impactful.

Here’s to mentorship, legal journeys, and rising together!
